A month of early starts, high climbs, brilliant walks, and plenty of reasons to get outside - plus that collective sigh of relief (or panic?) as the London Marathon ballot opened. Let’s catch up.
🥇 Grimsby Glory & Ultra Greatness
We kicked off June in style as James Biggin smashed the Great Grimsby 10K, clocking 35:35 and bagging 1st in his age category. Meanwhile, Paul and Farrah officially levelled up to ultra warriors, taking on distances most of us wouldn't even drive.
🏃♀️ Round Sheffield Run – The Big One
Whether you raced it, recced it, or rang a cowbell from the sidelines, Round Sheffield Run brought the whole community together.
- Thomas (aka Julian) joined last minute and gave it his all
- The cheer squad brought the noise and brilliant energy
- Everyone helped make it a day to remember
Big thanks to everyone who turned out, supported each other, and added another chapter to the SBR story.
🌄 Solstice Weekend – From Bog Baths to Welsh Summits
The longest day of the year saw the SBR community heading out before sunrise - on foot, in the hills, and full of good energy.
☕ Team Curbar: Sunrise & Shoe Casualties
At 3am, twenty of us met at Curbar Gap with flasks in hand and headtorches beaming.
James and Jasper briefly led the way before disappearing on a scenic detour, leaving the rest of us to navigate a beautiful route of laughs, light, and a surprise bog bath (it was meant to be a stream dip).
Eliot turned heads with his Hawaiian two-piece and Hello Kitty bum bag, and Megan powered through on Red Bull alone before casually heading off to an F4 race. The sunrise? Utter magic. The vibes? Immaculate.
🏔️ Team Snowdon: Calm Climbs & Big Views
Meanwhile, another crew took on Snowdon, soaking up summit views and group spirit in equal measure. From Sheffield to the top of Wales, the community showed up in all the right ways.
Solstice 2025: done and dusted. Let’s do it again next year - if not sooner.
🚶♀️ Business Walkers – Botanical Beauty & Festival Fridays
Our Business Walkers crew has been growing with every step, and June brought some seriously good outings - including a Botanical Gardens stroll full of chats, sunshine, and unbeatable vibes.
We walk every Monday from Kelham Island, meeting at 16:30 for a 16:45 set-off. Perfect for a post-work pause, a bit of movement, and good company - whether you're recovering, easing in, or just want a slower pace.
