Fun & Creative Date Ideas
If you love getting stuck into hands on activities, trying something new, or just having a laugh together, these date ideas are perfect:

Escape Together at The Great Escape Game
We’re going to start by tooting our own horn. If you are looking for a date that’s exciting and different, then an escape room is the place to be. For newer couples, this is the ultimate icebreaker. You’ll quickly find out if your date is cool under pressure or if they immediately start blaming you when things go wrong. A red flag detector, if you will! For long-term couples, you’ve done dinner dates, now see if you can work together to crack codes, solve puzzles, and escape before time runs out! Plus, recently we’ve added in AR darts with the introductory price of £5 per head and we’ve decked out the bar aka The Haunted Hound, again for only £5 per head, you can drink, eat and play as you uncover the puzzles and mysteries that lie in artifacts around the bar and lounge area.

Make Your Own Rings at Cahve Studio
Forget the normal jewellery shop, why not create something cute together? At Cahve Studio, you and your partner can design and make your own silver rings, creating a beautiful keepsake from your date. Who needs to buy a ring when you can make your own?

Heat things up at Butta La Pasta
They say food is the way to many of our hearts, so this activity is a bit of a hidden gem. Tucked away on London Road, at Butta La Pasta, you can take a hands-on pasta making class, learning how to roll, shape and create fresh, homemade pasta whilst chatting to the chef. It’s fun, romantic, and if all else fails, you can laugh about it over a takeaway afterwards.

Feed the goats at Heeley City Farm
On the outskirts of the centre, lies Heeley City Farm. It is the place where you can wander through at your own leisure and meet adorable goats, pigs, and some crazy poultry! It’s wholesome, fun, and something definitely a little different.
Arts for the Creative Couple
For couples who love exploring galleries, discovering new artists, and deep conversations, these spots offer the perfect mix of culture and romance…maybe you could even do an art crawl.

Millennium Gallery
Right in the centre of the city and probably Sheffield’s most famous gallery, this place is home to beautiful artwork, fascinating exhibitions, and stunning metalwork displays. It’s an ideal way to spend an afternoon immersed in creativity, with a shop full of artsy gifts and the trendy café Ambulo for a post-gallery debrief, fuelled by freshly made coffee. To extend the day further, it’s attached to the Winter Garden, an indoor oasis packed with tropical plants that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a rainforest (or at least somewhere far away from Sheffield City Centre!)

Graves Gallery
If classic art is more your thing, Graves Gallery is a solid shout. Although only a stone's throw away, this one is a little quieter than the Millennium Galley, and is tucked above the Central Library. It houses an impressive collection of paintings and modern pieces, so you get the best of both worlds, again there's a gift shop to enjoy and maybe you can wander down and lose yourself within the vast book collections on the surrounding floors.

Site Gallery
A contemporary art gallery within walking distance to the train station, Site Gallery focuses on boasting collections of interactive and digital artworks. It’s got a very London-est feel, ideal for couples who love cutting-edge exhibitions, experimental installations, and the kind of art that throws you deep into thoughts and possibilities. There’s also a trend going on here, guess what? It has a trendy little coffee shop too.

Cupola Gallery
This one’s a little further out in Hillsborough, but trust us—it’s worth it. Cupola Gallery is crammed with creative pieces from local and international artists. The space is a treasure trove of paintings, sculptures, and handcrafted jewellery, and yes—you can even buy something if you want a unique keepsake from your artsy date.
Best Bars for a Romantic Drink
Enough of the coffee and cafes, this section is for the expertly mixed cocktails and drinks that the city oozes.

Public
As the name suggests, this bar takes place in a former public bathroom…really! One of our favourites. Why? It’s fun, unique and intimate. Nestled down a flight of stairs, although Public is a tiny underground bar that is able to host only a handful of people (so make sure you book in advance) it undisputable offers some of the best cocktails in the city - created with love and every last detail is considered, for you to sip and enjoy every moment, whilst chatting to the passionate staff and listening to their selection of vinyl records.

Pearl at the Park
It’s low-key, stylish, and effortlessly romantic, making it the perfect location for a chilled out, yet memorable date night. We’d describe it simply as a cozy, intimate spot for couples who love great food and even better wine. Pearl on the Park serves up a selection of tasty small plates designed for sharing, paired with an expertly curated wine list.

Bench
Based within the Nether Edge area, Bench is one of those places that feels effortlessly cool with no questions asked. It’s proud to offer a range of seriously good cocktails and a thoughtfully curated menu of shareable dishes. Whether you grab a seat at the bar or cozy up in a corner, it’s the kind of place where you can chat for hours over drinks that are almost too pretty to sip.
Best Restaurants for a Romantic Meal
If you’re going for food that feels special, these restaurants are perfect for a special meal out, complete with a bit of extra charm.

Native
Starting as a small independent fishmongers over 100 years ago that has confidently branched out to the restaurant realm, these guys have nailed it. Their mantra is simple: “Seafood should be fresh, honest and as dynamic as the water it comes from”. It’s fresh, it’s seasonal and it’s uncompromising. If seafood is your thing, this is a must.

Koko
Some of our team were daily visitors when the eat out to help out scheme was in play, as this restaurant is worth a repeat visit for five. It’s a cool Japanese restaurant offering delicious sushi and freshly created Asian dishes, ideal for a chic and memorable dinner date, based on the depths of Ecclesall Road.

Domo
For those craving authentic Sardinian cuisine, Domo in Kelham Island is an absolute must. The energy of this place is simply electric, it’s often full and buzzing with energy…in fact it’s got all the makings of a romantic Italian getaway—without the airfare. Serving handmade pasta, fresh seafood, and may we recommend the homemade slab of tiramisu? Although the inside is warm and inviting, they’ve got a wonderful outside area, perfect for the sunshine months, while you sip on an Aperol Spritz (or two)...close your eyes and you’ll think you’re on the Amalfi Coastline.
